We are headed towards the end of the semester and with that the money tree is slowly disappearing. It is hard to balance work, school, and time to relax. Don’t let the stress of money interfere with your right to relax and have fun!
I have put together three tips below to help you have fun on a budget.
Have A Night Where You Watch the Worst Movies You Can Find
Invite your friends over and cocoon yourselves into watching some of the worst movies you can find. For starters, check out The Room and be prepared for some of the best/ worst acting at its finest. Don’t forget snacks too! My friends and I like to recreate our favourite restaurant appetizers like Kelsey’s Spinach Dip.
Find and attend local events.
The thing about Kingston is that there is ALWAYS something to do! There are plenty of seminars and events to attend but you just have to keep an eye out! I usually hear about events from Facebook, word of mouth, and flyers posted at some of my favourite shops downtown. Take a look at my blog post ‘5 Reasons Why Kingston Is The Best College Town’ for inspiration on where to go with your friends next.
Host A Game Night
It is time for card and board games to start making a comeback! I recently hosted a game night over at my apartment and had a great turn out. Knowing that we were all able to get together to enjoy each-others company proved that having fun does not need to come with a expensive price tag.
Whether you are a college student or not, these tips can be helpful for anyone! Tell us in the comments below what you like to do for fun on a small budget.
