College can be hectic! Finding time to eat, let alone eat healthy, can be quite a task. Today’s blog post is designed to make students aware of the various healthy eating options available to them – and hopefully help you avoid the dreaded “freshmen 15”! -. So let’s get started!
As I mentioned above, finding time to eat healthy can be a challenge. Thankfully, there are strategies and on campus resources that make this less difficult.
The cafeteria will be our first stop. If you’re a first year student living in residence there is a good chance you have a meal plan, though, even those without meal plans will benefit from this knowledge. Brown’s provides both nutritional facts on their digital display boards and handy graphics at every station so you can better inform your decision. Just look for some of these below!
Further information about these labels can be found here
For those of you with meal plans, Brown’s also provides a detailed month by month calendar of all the Chef’s specials for each campus.
A collection of every monthly calendar can be found here
The calendar services as an excellent resource for planning out meals. Meal planning is one of the most important aspects of eating healthy. Though somewhat time consuming, almost all food planning guides focus on making the planning process as easy as possible.
For those of you looking for solutions outside of the cafeteria, I have included a lists of handy guides that include various healthy eating suggestions that can range from complex to simple and fun!
